• Kier were keen to use Layher for this project due to its adaptability and the ability to maintain 2m lift heights on the main platform while managing the bricklayer’s 1.5m lifts with the independent inside boards.

  The scaffold was initially pre-erected as edge protection for the roof installation, with physical ties installed into the steel frame. The loading towers and staircases were designed to double up as buttressing, allowing the tie pattern to be reduced.

  U-Lattice Beams were used to maintain a large access route into the ground floor. It was at this location that staircase access to the scaffold was required. Utilising Layher’s console brackets, the staircase was able to be cantilevered above the beamed entrance with minimal effort, leaving the necessary access routes without obstruction (see picture).
